My name is Austin Green, and the idea for “The Huemon” came to me in 2020, just a few months after graduating college and moving to New York City to begin my career as a filmmaker/actor- a career abruptly cut short by the coronavirus pandemic.
After coming back home I began to work on what I could to keep my creativity flowing. It was at that time when the current political, social and even medical divide of not just America but the world had become very apparent to me- I felt called to make something that could help people remember our shared humanity.
It began with the idea of a children’s book which quickly evolved into an entire world fit for an animated series. For years I’ve written scripts, drawn concept art, forged world history/lore, and crafted a magic system for the show (as I am a big fantasy nerd).
A challenge I faced during that time was colon cancer, which I’m grateful to say healed with practices including meditation and tai chi. Like my friends and family, this project also served as a rock for my recovery. My goal is to inspire people to believe in themselves, open their hearts/minds, and remember the humanity, the world, and the life we all share.
